mood board

We are using this board to show what kind of colours are going to be in our video and to show what kind of stuff that our target audience likes to do and uses.

Shisha is a recreational activity that all teenagers typically enjoy. Shisha is smoking which is connected with bad teenagers, we wanted to use it because we want to show the girls being 'rebels' and having fun.
Ideally we would want to use a bike like this to show the girly side to them by using a stereotypical colour (pink). However we will be using a blue bike in our video as that is the only props available to us.

Props

School:
Tables and chairs – to show we are in the school bored our heads on the table and not wanting to do any thing and we want to get out off school so we decide to run out of school and how our target audience would most properly feel like when there at school.
Pen-when Niamh is falling asleep Brooke chucks a pen at her head to wake her up.
Iphone- Tasnim using her phone when shes meant to be working and listening.
bowling - the girls went bowling to show fun and excitement
Books closed - shows were in school and we closed our books because we didn't want to do work, like were not bothered to do anything and we don't care.
gum- we are using gum to show that one of the girls are like really they don't care and don't care what people think about them trying to give off the effect that shes a bad girl and don't care what anyone thinks of her.not allowed to have gum in school so there braking the rules.
sheets of paper- because one of the girls gets all the paper and chucks it in the air and tells the other girls to get up and run away with her, this would really effect the teachers because there meant to be doing them papers not chucking it up in the air.

make up- bright colors , eye liner, mascara
cloths  - what teenagers like to wear e.g dresses, shorts, vests , school uniforms, school shoes
shoes - Converses, Timberland,Dr martins,
because our target audience is teenagers and most of the teenagers like to wear when they go out with there friends.

we used this lighting in out video because we thought it would give off the affect that our target audience is like

  • skate board -we are using a skate board to appeal to our target audience because our target audience is 12-22, most of the target audience like to hang with there friends
  • 2 scooter- to show that everyone is having a good time riding around on there scooters and skate boards .
westfiled: westfield is kinda of bright so we would have a bright light but not to bright and really big space to film, its really one of the main places that everyone goes to chill so really its the best place for our music video.
escalator- we are using escalators because in our song , it says "I love it i don't care" so 1 person going up and one person going down and in the middle there hands meet &make a heart were trying to give off the effect that no matter what we do we dont care.

RISK ASSESMENT

Iconna Pop Biography

Icona pop - i dont care

Icona Pop is a Swedish DJ and synthpop duo with electro house music, punk and indie pop influences. The duo, established in 2010, is made up of Aino Jawo (born July 7, 1986) and Caroline Hjelt (born November 8, 1987).

In 2011, they were featured on “Mind Your Manners,” a song by American indie hip hop duo Chiddy Bang. It was released as the lead single from the Chiddy Bang debut studio album “Breakfast” and reached #15 on Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart. It also reached #19 on the Top Heatseekers Songs chart.

I Love It,” featuring British singer Charli XCX was issued in May 2012 as a pre-release single off of their self-titled album “Icona Pop” entered the Swedish Singles chart at 48 and has peaked to 2. In the United States, this song is best known as the theme song to the Jersey Shore spin-off “Snooki & JWoww.” The album’s second single “We Got the World” was released in October 2012. The album, “Icona Pop,” was issued by Ten Records in November 2012.

It’s verses are like the narration of a teenager’s diary, before the youthful confidence comes storming in, “take a second look and you’ll see, there is no one like me“. It’s a punchy pop song that has a wonderful blend of obvious hooks, big choruses and a chart-ready appeal, yet it’s still drenched in buckets of ice cool undertones.

LOCATIONS

SCHOOL/CLASSROOM
We want to start the music video off in school because we want to show that we are rebellious by running out of class and throwing our books and papers in the air. School is an institute where you act in a certain way and we purposely wanted to show that we were more concerned with having fun then following the school's rules and that we are more interested in having a good time then learning, and therefore knowingly break the rules by running out of school. In reality students are punished for this type of behavior but as it is only a dream we show that we can get away with doing as we please.

BOWLING

We chose bowling because its a place where teenagers can hang out together and have fun. Bowling is an activity that you can enjoy with your friends so we knew we would be able to film us all together doing it.  The game itself is not a competitive or serious sport as its a very fun and friendly game. We thought that taking action shots would be very good because if he have lots of shots of us having fun and playing the game it would go with our song as it is lively and upbeat. we will use mid shots showing us handling the ball so it is more like the audience is there with us and can see us having a lot of fun together as a group of young friends. Close up shots will show our individual  reactions which will be effective the audience may laugh along with funny reactions and feel part of the fun by being so up close. If there is close up shots of us laughing and pulling faces while playing the audience may laugh along with us and therefore feel the lively, fun atmosphere we are trying to create for the song.

ARCADE

Arcade was also a place where we went to. We thought that if we went to a place where there's lots of games,It would also be fun because we would be able to get around and play how ever many games we wish to play. This made us look very young and childish, the type of games we played were the type of games that you would usually play with a group of friends. We didn't take that many shots because the lighting in the arcade was very dark so it was not the best place to record in, however we still recorded a few shots.

BATHROOM

The bathroom was a place were we all agreed  but we couldn't record this because we didn't find a big enough bathroom so we abandoned this idea and also because we didn't have enough time.

BEDROOM
Recording in the bedroom was one of our strong idea's that we all agreed on as a group. This was because the bedroom itself was girly and was also very spacious. We wanted it to look like we were having a little sleep over. The reason why we were singing with hair brushes was because we thought that our audience might singalong to the song like this. Us jumping around pushing each other shows how much fun were having, this also relates to our song that we don't care how silly we look we will always have fun.

Wednesday 6 November 2013

We decided to definitely do a pop song as our group was all girls and it is a genre of music we all enjoy and it would be convenient because it would mean people in our group could star in our video. We definitely did not want to do rap as it is very male dominated and we did not want to do rock as we thought none of us knew much about these genres and for pop we would have more of an understanding about conventions. Originally we had a couple of other ideas for song choice. One of the songs we considered was attracting flies by Alunageorge as it did not have a pre-existing well known video. It was also a song that would fit into the pop genre however we rejected this song choice because we thought it was not up-beat and was too slow and we wanted to show the girls having a lot of fun and jumping from shot to shot in different locations to up-beat music. Another song we considered was Avicii- good feeling (a remix of the original by Flo Rida) as it was a very up-beat song and we could of applied similar ideas for potential music videos to this song. However, we decided not to choose this song because we wanted a song that we would lip sink to but this song only has one part where there is any singing and the large majority of the song is just the music.

My moodboard explained.

My moodboard is based on a girly/edgy pop culture so I chose colour, clothing and accesories to represent that. The bright pink colours with the cute shorts and crop tops brought out the young fun girly side to my audience, this contrasts with the dark vampire-ish colours, rawr clothing and sharp heels that represent the edgy reckless teenagers we want to aim our video at. We chose this target audeince as it is a good mix of an audience ,a challenge for us and we have good ideas!
